Several years ago my mom told me about how she brought vanilla beans home from Hawaii to make her own vanilla extract. I tucked that in my back pocket as a must-do for when I had my own kitchen… and was old enough to buy liquor.
A few years after that I was browsing through Costco and I found vanilla beans- it was meant to be. Still not 21 yet, I drug Bryce to Costco to buy me vodka #truelove and the rest is history. 😆
But in all seriousness, this is the best tasting, most cost-effective vanilla I’ve ever had. I highly recommend testing it out in your own kitchen!
Ingredients:
Vanilla Beans (2 tubes from Costco did the trick for me!)
1 bottle of Vodka or other high alcohol content liquor
Directions:
1. Cut open the vanilla beans.
2. Put them in a bottle of vodka.
3. Store in a dark cabinet for 6 months before using it.
