First I sauté and vegetables on hand (zucchini, onion, garlic, mushrooms, etc all work great!).
Then I blend them up in a little bone broth (more nutrients!).
Finally I stir it into a few cans of tomato sauce, season generously with oregano, basil, and a pinch of cayenne and store flat in gallon size bags in the freezer.
We use this for pizza night, in pasta, and more!
Not only is this inexpensive to make, it’s also full of vegetables that not everyone in my family would eat on their own accord.
This isn’t an effort to hide or sneak vegetables into my family’s diets- they all see me make the sauce! It just takes something we already eat and adds a little extra umph to its nutritional value!
